Fila ’96 (Grant Hill 2) Retro – Release Info

If you are a 90s kid you either had this sneaker, wanted this sneaker, or had a friend with this sneaker. Period. Even though it seems hard to imagine for those of you young ones there was a time when Fila was a very serious force in the kick game and it basically started with this shoe right here.

Grant Hill holding a pair of his own Retro kicks should get people pumped because Hill and his kicks were a hot topic in the mid-90′s. The Fila Grant Hill II (now labeled the Fila ’96) were all the rage “back in the day” and were one of the first shoes I remember REALLY making an off-court presence, at least at my middle school, more kids had them because Tupac famously wore them on cover art then because they played basketball. It is without a doubt a modern classic and a super addition to anyones collection.

The release date is now confirmed to be March 21st on FILA.com and FILA retailers, check out a pic of Hill with kicks after the break. Who else rocked these in the mid 90s? Are you getting a fresh pair?

***UPDATE*** Fila has announced these will retail for $90! Now there is no excuse, great retro, great price!

Yo, I had these in 96, blue with white trim… but I grew out of them fairly quick. I actually picked a retro pair up 2 years ago, black/blue and some gray. I played basketball in them last week and they had great traction, however here is not much cushioning though.

    Grant Hill drinks Sprite?
